Reading:
Point out environmental print (stop signs, McDonalds)
Play word games (rhyming, sing songs, I Spy)
Read with your child daily:
-ask them to retell the story using beginning, middle and end.
-ask your child his/her favorite part of the book.
-ask your child to pick out words from the story that they know (I, the, to)
Talk to your child.
-ask about their favorite time of day.
-ask your child questions using the words: who, what where, when, why and how.
Writing:
Provide paper, pencils, markers and crayons for your child so they can produce drawing and writing.
Practice writing their first and last name and letters.
